FESTIVALS IN 2010
4-5. April 2010.
Easter
The first event of the season celebrates rebirth, purgation of the man and the awaking of nature. On the celebration the believers can take part in a church service. Traditionalist groups show the traditions connected to the Easter celebrations. Folk artists from all over the country arrive to introduce the rich traditions of egg painting (batiquing, scratching, shoeing, leaf-painting) to our visitors, who have the opportunity to learn these techniques. In the Easter-garden games like egg-snapping, egg-rolling and egg-hitting can be played. The common symbols of Easter (lamb, hare) can be prepared of natural materials. In the Game-garden the visitors can try some almost forgotten folk skill and sports games. On Easter Monday there is a beauty contest among the racka sheep of the animal farm.
23-24. May 2010
Pentecost Games
On the Pentecost Games a colorful selection will be introduced to the public showing genre images of countryside life, improvised farces, and the traditions of the renowned Hungarian puppet-show. Visitors can participate in folk customs connected to Pentecost (pentecosting, Pentecost king election). On the Pentecost market folkweaves, dresses, woolen products, crockeries, baskets, belts, bags, footwears, knifes, bead-, leather-, wood- and bone-jewelry and traditional market delicacies can be bought. This is going to be the first year to announce our Great Pentecost Swapping where children can sell their own old toys and other treasures, and they can also learn the craft of pricing, sales and bargain from a crier. Besides the pastry horn, honey cake and bread-langosh baked on spot visitors can taste fried sausage, roast joint and other market dishes.

Grape Harvest Crowd
During the two-day festival our visitors may stomp the grapes, the must is pouring from under the press and the best wines of the Hungarian wine regions? family cellars? can be tasted or bought. Anybody may join the making of scarecrows and noisemakers of vineyards and orchards. The jocular harvest traditions revive: grape-guarding and harvest procession.
